About Me

Dr. Tara Torres, DCN, CNS, LN

As a clinical nutritionist with over a decade of experience, I have counseled clients and patients on weight loss, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, and obesity-related conditions since 2013. My expertise and passion lie in autoimmune conditions, gastrointestinal health, and hormonal balance. I’ve had the privilege of participating in research, teaching, hosting a podcast, and leading a mentorship and consulting program in nutrition.

My journey into nutrition began with my own diagnoses of Hashimoto’s and celiac disease. Despite going gluten-free, I struggled to feel better and received little guidance on nutrition. Knowing what I know now about gut health and the interconnectedness of body systems, I realize how much difference a comprehensive approach can make. Today, my goal is to provide customized, evidence-based nutrition guidance to help others find clarity amid the overwhelming information available online.

I’m a Functional Medicine Instructor and BCNS – Certified Nutrition Specialist approved supervisor. My background includes service as an Army medic and academic credentials: a Doctorate of Clinical Nutrition from the University of Western States, an M.S. in Human Nutrition & Functional Medicine from UWS, and a B.S. in Nutrition Science from Kaplan University. I’m also a board Certified Nutrition Specialist, Licensed nutritionist, a Certified LEAP Therapist, and hold certifications in personal training and fitness nutrition.
